QSA medal & 1915 medal Trio to the Prince Alfred's Volunteer Guards & the Bothas M.R.

Consists of a QSA medal (bars- Cape Colony & Transvaal) named to 739 Pte. M.Marshall Prince Alf: Vol: Gd: and a 1915 trio (with bi-lingual Victory medal) all named to Sgt. M.Marshall Bothas M.R. The Bothas M.R. served in German South west Africa.

Scarce Boer War & WWI medal group - Lancs Fusiliers & Manchester Pals (19th City Bn).

A scarce group to an original Pals sergeant sold with copy research. Group comprises of a four bar QSA medal (bars - Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvall and Laing's Nek), a two bar KSA medal (bars - South Africa 1901 and South Africa 1902), a WWI victory medal (unfortunately this has been neatly erased), WWI war medal, a George V long service & good conduct medal and a Belgian Croix de Guerre. Only one Belgian Croix de Guerre was awarded to the battn.

East and West Africa medal (bar - Benin 1897).

Genuine medal named to J.T.Baragwrath, Sto, H.M.S. Phoebe. There were two hundred and thirty-two "Benin 1897" bars awarded to Phoebe. In good condition, slight edge bruising and minor contact marks.

QSA medal (bar - Cape Colony) to the R.M.L.I.

Genuine Queen's South Africa 1899-1902 medal complete with bar Cape Colony. Named to A.Rayner, Pte. R.M.L.I., HMS Niobe. Has small impressed naming. In very good condition, just some very minor edge bruising.
Albert Rayner was born in Bethnal Green, London on the 9th October 1874. A blacksmith by trade he enlisted into the Royal Marines on the 5th December 1893. For his service in the Boer War he received the Queen's Medal with bar Cape Colony. Private Rayner was discharged by purchase on the 12th June 1901 and enrolled into the Royal Fleet Reserves in July 1902.
One hundred and twenty-nine single bar Queen's South Africa Medals were awarded to the company of the HMS Niobe. Around sixty of them to men of the Royal Marine Light Infantry.

Scarce Mediterranean medal - Yorkshire Light Infantry.

Genuine medal in good condition complete with ribbon. Issued for service in the Mediterranean during the Boer war. They replaced active service battalions releasing them to go to Africa and for guarding Boer war POW's. Medal is named to 7312 Pte. J.R. Batty, Yorkshire LI.

Both of the medals are in EF condition and they are mounted for display. The medals are named 1973 Pte. C. W. Varley 51st Regt. The IGS has the bar Jowaki 1877-8 and the Afghanistan medal has the bar Ali Musjid.

Afghanistan & IGS 1895 (3 bar) medals - Captain, Ordnance Dept

The Afghanistan medal is named MAG: Sergt J.J. Bennett, Ordnance department and the IGS is named Captn J.J. Horton-Bennett Ordnancce department. The IGS has 3 bars which are Punjab Frontier 1897-98, Samana 1897 and Tirah 1897-98. Captain Horton-Bennet was MID in India.

Genuine medal complete with ribbon. Named to G.Soares 74th Regt. Soares was present for the 3rd Kaffir war. The medal is sold with copy of the 74th Highland regiment of foot involvement in this war and confirmation of the medal entitlement.

Victorian medal group of three - Royal Artillery

This group consists of a 1854 Crimea medal (bar - Sebastopol) regimentally impressed to S. Alloway, 7th Bn. Royal Artillery, a China medal (bars Taku Forts 1860 and Pekin 1860) officially impressed to Gunr Saml Alloway, No.6 B 12th Bde R. Art and a Turish Crimea medal which just has his initials impressed on the edge. The group comes with copy paperwork confirming the bars. A nice group.

Afghanistan service medal 1878-79-80 - Surgeon

The medal is named to Surgn. Maj: I.Ferguson, A.M.Dept. The medal is in good condition and has no bar. This was the soldiers only entitlement and he completed his service with the rank of Brigadier.
