Rare Intelligence Africa GSM (bar Kenya) medal.

Genuine medal in good condition complete with ribbon. The medal is named to F.I.O. (Field Intelligence Officer) R.B. Cheetham. The Mau Mau rebellion in 1956 caught the Intelligence Corps unprepared with few personnel on the ground in Africa. There was an urgent need for Field Intelligence officers who spoke the local language and had local knowledge. A number of retired special branch officers and other suitable candidates were drafted in to assist the Int Corps. Cheetham was one of a small band of men.

Rare medal to the Infantry. Named to 14875263 Pte. J. Anderson, Seaforth. This man is also entitled to a Burma star and other WW2 medals. The medal is in good condition with South East Asia 1945-46 bar. This bar is one of the most under rated bars on the market. Any reading of the history of the campaign shows that it was a hard fought campaign.
