A first world war LS&GC medal group to 30516 / 533040 Sergeant Frances Edward Kingston, 7th Hussars / 11th Hussars.
British War Medal named to 30516 Pte. F.E. Kingston. 7-Hrs.
WW1 Victory Medal named to 30516 Pte. F.E. Kingston. 7-Hrs.
George V Long Service & Good Conduct Medal named to 533040 Sjt. F.E.K. Kingston. 11 Hrs.
Frances Kingston attested for the 7th Dragoon Guards on 13/06/1908 and was allocated the regimental number 2129. In September 1908 he joined his regiment in Egypt, where he remained until accompanying them to ndia on 02/10/1910.
On 01/10/1916 Kingston transferred to the 7th Hussars , serving in India and the Middle East during the war. On 13/12/1918 he was posted to the 2nd Reserve Regiment of Cavalry. On the 15/03/1920 he transferred to the 13th Hussars and on the 25/11/1924 he finally transferred to the 11th Hussars, who were in India. He was awarded the LS&GC medal in 1927 and was discharged on 19/05/1927.
On the 26/01/1940 Kingston re-enlisted in the Royal Armoured Corps (2nd East Riding Yeomanry) and was given the regimental number 7903086.
The medals are in good condition with ribbons.
