A group of four awarded to 14454717 Sergeant Joseph Parren, Royal Leicestershire Regt, who was wounded whilst on patrol in the 'Orange Grove' in Cyprus and awarded the C-in-C certficate for his services in Cyprus.

The medals are in good condition and are court mounted for wear.
Sergeant Parren served as a Medic during the Korean War and was on the front line on many occasions treating the wounded men of the Leicestershire Regt.
He was wounded, 'whilst on patrol in the Orange Grove' in Cyprus. The vehicle he was travelling in was blown up by a land mine resulting in one officer killed and two O/R wounded. Sgt. Parren was hit in the head by splinters and was rendered deaf in the left ear. He was discharged on medical grounds on 28/08/1959.
Sergeant Parren was awarded the Commander-in-Chief's certificate by Major-General Goodwin for his services in Cyprus.
He is mentioned numerous times in the book 'Marching with the Tigers - The History of the Royal Leicestershire Regiment 1955-1975'.
