A first world war group to the Taylor brothers, from Chadderton, Oldham, who both served with the 17th (Bantam) Bn. Lancashire Fusiliers. There service numbers being one digit apart.

George V Military Medal named to 18292 Pte. B. Taylor. 17 / Lanc: Fus: 
British War Medal named to 18292 Pte. B. Taylor. Lan. Fus. 
WW1 Victory Medal named to 18292 Pte. B. Taylor. Lan. Fus. 
Memorial Plaque (Death Penny) named to Ben Taylor 

Killed In Action - 14th October 1918 (Dadizeele New British Cemetery) 

L.G. - 16th November 1916 (M.M.) 

With the group is a newspaper article about the award of his Military Medal and it states that he was a Drummer. 

The medals are in good condition with original ribbons.

18291 Corporal James Taylor, 17th (1st South East Lancashire) (Bantam) Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers 

British War Medal named to 18291 Cpl. J. Taylor. Lan. Fus. 
WW1 Victory Medal named to 18291 Cpl. J. Taylor. Lan. Fus. 

His papers show that he had a gun shot wound to his right shoulder which appears to have occurred in July 1916. 

The medals are in good condition and comes with original envelope .

Comes with quantity of research. 


Both brothers enlisted on the 9th May 1915 at Chadderton.
