A first world war single BWM to 41377 Private John Hampson, Loyal North Lancashire Regt (later D.L.I., 82189).
British War Medal named to 41377 Pte. J. Hampson. L.N. Lan. R.
John Hampson was born in Runcorn, 22nd July 1899. He attested and enlisted into the 30th Army Reserve, 13th July 1917. On 12th December 1917 he joined the 42nd Reserve Bn in France. He joined the 1st/4th Loyal North Lancashire Regiment for record purposes but was soon transferred to the Durham Light Infantry. He was wounded in action whilst serving with the 9th Battalion, receiving a gun shot wound to his right leg, left thigh and chest.
The medal is in good condition.
