Killed In Action - 16th May 1917 (Feuchy British Cemetery)
Oxtoby was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal (LG. 13/02/1917).
For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He showed great courage and determination, as a cyclist orderly, in keeping touch between the battery position and the wagon lines.
Please note that the star has a minor spelling mistake to his name. It is impressed OXOTBY instead of OXTOBY.
The medals are in good condition.
