Description

This second world war POW group is to 4393659 Private Sydney Verdun Lamb, Green Howards.

1939-45 Star unnamed as issued
Africa Star (with 8th Army clasp) unnamed as issued
1939-45 War Medal unnamed as issued

The group comes with his Soldier’s Release Book.

Lamb was taken prisoner of war at Gazala on 01.06.1942, and after incarceration in Italy at Campo 66 (Capua) was then moved to Germany on Italy’s surrender. He was at Stalag VIIIB (Lamsdorf) and Stalag 4C (Sudetenland) in addition to being employed in works camps at Lazisck and Brux.

The medals are in good condition and are swing mounted for wear.
