A first world war Battle of Bassee casualty 1914 Mons Star awarded to 7688 Private William O’Donnell, 2nd Bn. South Lancashire Regiment, who was killed in action on the 24/10/14 and is remembered at Le Touret Memorial.

Killed In Action – 24th October 1914

The 2nd Battalion were involved in very heavy fighting at La Bassee over 24th/25th October 1914. On the 24th they lost 150 men during an action at Polygon Wood. 

The medal is in good condition.
