‘On June 10th in the KNIGHTSBRIDGE BOX, Gnr. KNOWLES was layer of a 25-pdr gun.
The Troop was in action and being heavily shelled. Gnr KNOWLES was hit by a splinter in the back but continued to lay and fire his gun with steadiness and precision until the shoot was over when he had to be carried away.
The devotion to his gun which Gnr KNOWLES showed, made a profound impression on the men of this recently reformed Battery, and set them a fine example to follow’
The medals are in good condition and are swing mounted for wear. Comes with a George VI RHA cap badge which has been brooched.
