Description

A second world war casualty medal group of three awarded to LT/JX.173084 Leading Seaman Walter Leonard Emmitt, Royal Naval Patrol Service. 

1939-45 Star unnamed as issued
Atlantic Star unnamed as issued
War Medal 1939-45 unnamed as issued 

Killed in Action – 9th July 1942 

Walter Leonard Emmitt was from Grimsby, Lincolnshire.

He was onboard HM Trawler Manor when it was torpedoed and sunk by German motor torpedo boats in the English Channel south of Lyme Bay on 9th July 1942.
