A second world war casualty medal group to Fourth Engineer Officer John Rankin Collinson, S.S. Ashworth, Merchant Navy.

Killed In Action – 13th October 1942 (Tower Hill Memorial)

Collinson was serving as a 4th Eng. Off. on board S.S. Ashworth when it was torpedoed by German submarine U-221 and sunk about 500 miles east of Belle Isle Strait. The Master, 41 crew members and 7 gunners were all lost.

Comes with original box of issue and condolence slip.

The medals are in good condition and are mounted on card for display.
