A first world war casualty medal pair awarded to Lieutenant Harry Vincent Higgins, 116th Company, Machine Gun Corps, who was sadly killed in action on 3/9/1916 and is remembered at Serre Rd. No. 2 Cemetery.
British War Medal named to Lieut. H.V. Higgins.

The medals are in good condition.
Killed in Action - 3rd September 1916
Higgins served with the 116th Coy. M.G.C., who supported the 11th, 12th and 13th Battalion Royal Sussex Regiment (1st, 2nd & 3rd South Downs) when they attacked the positions around the Boar's Head at Richebourg l'Avoue in Northern France on 30th June 1916, suffering heavy casualties.
