A second world war Japanese POW medal group of five awarded to 3523526 Private John Smith, The Loyal Regiment, who was captured at the Fall of Singapore, 15/02/1942.

The GSM has an edge knock at 6 o'clock which goes over the MIT of SMITH. Overall the medals are in good condition and are swing mounted for wear.
Group comes with his Soldier's Release Book, Soldier's Service and Pay Book, Loyal Regiment lapel badge (enamel damaged), For Loyal Service King's Badge and a Far East Prisoner of War (F.E.P.O.W.) cloth badge.
Private John Smith was from Wigan, Lancashire.
He was captured by the Japanese at the Fall of Singapore, 15th February 1942, and taken prisoner of war. He was liberated 2nd September 1945.
