The Egypt medal has some wear to the edge due to contact from the star but generally the medals are in good condition. Please see photos.
Robert Ball was born on 21/8/1860 in Portsmouth. He served in the Royal Navy from 1882 and was pensioned twice (Sept 1902 and Sept 1907) before being recalled in 1914 for the first world war at the age of 54. He was finally invalided on 22/10/1918 with "Senile debility & defect of vision".
