French Croix de Guerre 1914-1916 unnamed as issued
London Gazette:
27th October 1916 (M.M.)
1st May 1917 (C de G)
Cook attested as a Gunner on 04/03/1902, transferred to the Army Reserve on 03/03/1910 and was discharged 03/03/1914. On 09/06/1915 he re-enlisted in to the Royal Garrison Artillery and served in France from March 1916 to January 1918.
He was appointed Temp. 2nd Lieutenant on 26.08.1918 and relinquished the commission on completion of service, retaining the rank of 2nd Lieutenant 01/09/1921.
On 07/11/1930 Cook was charged with Larceny. He was sentenced to one month in prison in the Second Division and was deprived of the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.
The medals have some surface wear, minor edge knocks and bruising. Please see photos.
