Also comes with a Memorial Plaque (Death Penny) named to John McMillan.
The group came from the family and John McMillan was said to be his brother which we have confirmed from census records. However, we haven't been able to confirm who he served with and when he died.
The plaque comes with the original card box and there is also an original photograph of four soldiers, believed to include William and John McMillan.
William McMillan was mistakenly reported as being killed in action on the 28th January 1916 until his father received a letter from him stating that he was well and serving with his battalion after the date he had been reported as being killed.
The medals are in good condition.
