Memorial Plaque (Death Penny) named to Frederick John Holder
Died - 7th August 1918 (Terlincthun British Cemetery, Wimille)
Private Holder was born in North Wroxhall, Wiltshire. He enlisted on 13.10.1914 into the Welsh Regiment at Pentre.
Present at the attack on Mametz Wood, Somme on the 10.07.1916 where the Battalion was almost destroyed.
He transferred on the 31.03.1918 and was posted to the 11th Battalion, Cheshire Regt with a new service number, 53399.
He was declared missing 10.04.1918. Taken prisoner of war during the Great German Offensive. Died of intestinal catarrh in War Hospital Renischule at Charlesville whilst a prisoner of war on the 07.08.1918.
The medals are in good condition.
